My decals are not difficult to apply, and I include step-by-step instructions with every order. Of course, the larger and more intricate the design, the more work it will be. Before removing the backing, take a few moments to burnish (rub gently) the almost see-through paper on top of each design, using a wooden spoon or smooth rubber spatula. When applying large designs, an assistant can be helpful. If your design is 2 layers, find the first layer as indicated on the back of the design. Follow the directions, working with this layer first. After it has been applied, follow the directions for the top layer. Carefully peel away the grid-marked paper on the back side of the design, starting at a top corner. I prefer to lay the design face-down on a hard, flat surface, and peel the backing away flat against the design. A gentle back and forth wiggle of the hand can aid in removal of the backing. Watch for any portions that remain stuck to the backing, in order to prevent tearing. If any part of the design continues to stick to the backing, place that portion of the backing back onto the design and rub the area a bit more until the design releases from the backing when peeled away. Position design on a smooth, clean surface. A level ensures straight application. Smooth the design against the surface, working from the center outward. Carefully but firmly rub the design onto the surface, always working with strokes from the center outward (the burnishing spoon or spatula works well for this), and then gently peel the sticky, opaque film away from the design, starting at a top corner, and peel the film at an angle, keeping it flat against the wall. The gentle back and forth hand wiggle may be helpful here too. To prevent tearing, watch carefully for any parts of the design that might remain stuck to the film as you go. If any part of the design continues to stick to the film, place it back against the wall and rub that portion a bit more until it sticks to the wall and releases from the film. Continue peeling until the film is completely removed.
